Enrolled Agent - "Enrolled" means licensed by the federal government. "Agent" means
authorized to appear in place of the taxpayer at the Internal Revenue
Service. EAs have demonstrated technical competence in the field of taxation.
EAs advise, represent and prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships,
corporations, estates, trusts and any entities with tax-reporting requirements.
EAs specialize in taxation. EAs are the only taxpayer representative
who receive their right to practice from the United States government.

ATA
Accredited Tax Advisor - A designation for professionals who handle
sophisticated tax planning issues, including ownership of closely held businesses,
qualified retirement plans and complicated estates. Credential holders have
earned these designations by successfully meeting stringent requirements
of education, examination and experience and adherence to ACAT's Code of
Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct. ACAT is an independent accrediting
organization identifying specialists in accountancy and federal taxation.
